Like its history, Sarasota is a city that is very much oriented towards the art of entertainment and offers many acts such as :
Rock&Roll Reignited with no Fade Away– A rock&roll show inspired by the legendary music of artists such as Buddy Holly, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and many others. This is a new revue revives classic rock & roll with sizzle, showmanship, and style.
Summer Circus Spectacular– For circus fans of all ages, near and far you can beat the heat at reasonable prices, all while experiencing the best in circus arts. Some of the most exciting acts in the circus world have joined the annual show. A long-standing partnership between Circus Arts Academy and The Ringling, with performances presented over nine weeks this summer at the Historic Asolo Theater.
Maytag Virgin, – A charming play that immerses us in a classic Southern love story, presented every night (except Monday).
But also a lot of activities for children such as:
Kid’s Summer Beach Runs– SRQCountyParks, CoreSRQ, New Balance Sarasota and Sarasota Crew present Kids ‘Summer Beach Runs. A free one-mile fun run. In partnership with the Manasota Track Club, Kids ‘Summer Beach Runs are held at two locations. Tuesdays at Siesta Beach, 948 Beach Road, Sarasota. Meet at the pavilion near the playground. (No run-on July 5). Wednesdays at North Brohard Park, 1400 S. Harbor Drive, Venice – Meet near the Venice Fishing Pier (No race on July 6).
Kid’s Night– Bring the kids to Sharky’s for Kids’ Night of fun night for all. On Wednesday nights throughout the summer, kids will enjoy crab races, face painting and an exciting scavenger hunt right on the Gulf. Activities start at 6:30 pm every Wednesday.
The July 14th party – (French national holiday) at the Bird Yacht Club, meet the French network of Sarasota around an aperitif dinner accompanied by Tangi Colombel.
CoreSRQ at The Bay– CoreSRQ is now an independent non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community through innovative wellness, education, and community outreach programs for people from all walks of life. Breakfast with the Sharks– Enjoy a light continental breakfast while learning about our favorite finned friends and Mote’s groundbreaking shark research. See you on July 2, 2022, at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium.
Arts Advocates Gallery– Chris Butcher can’t remember a time when she wasn’t drawing. In college, while majoring in elementary and special education, she spent her free time painting pictures to decorate her friends’ dorm rooms. Over the years, she tried most mediums but “mostly” opted for colored pencil. Her new series, “The Bird People,” remakes famous paintings by turning all the people into birds. See this exhibition every Saturday from June 25 to July 23.
