Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) is known for its easy access and short wait times. For several months, the airport has been strengthening its position as an attractive hub for both domestic and international travelers, undergoing transformation with expansion projects and the addition of new destinations.
In 2024, the airport launched a $200 million expansion project aimed at enhancing the airport’s infrastructure and capabilities. This project includes the construction of new boarding gates, improvements to existing facilities, and an increase in dining and shopping options to enhance the passenger experience, as Sarasota’s popularity continues to grow.
With annual passenger numbers on the rise, the airport recently announced new destinations, including daily direct flights to New York with American Airlines starting November 5, 2024, and multiple weekly flights to Austin, Texas, operated by Allegiant Air. Currently, the airport offers 54 direct destinations served by 11 different airlines.
